How to take care of your flower plants
Flowering pot plants are best considered a long lasting substitute for cut flowers, instead of a house plant with a very short life. Green and flowering plants are a great enhancement to any home or office decor and along with that they are also beneficial to your health.
Many plants have blooms lasting weeks, some even longer. If the flowers die or leaves fade within days, something is actually wrong with your plant. In general flowering pot plants need bright, cool conditions and moist soil. Warm air is usually their biggest enemy.
Different plants need different types of care, some need more light, some more water and the list goes on. But as a whole, there are a few things which one needs to do to take care of the flower plants.
Always keep plants in medium-light locations, direct sunlight may turn out to be harmful for the plant. Natural light is best, but some plants can also thrive in office fluorescent light. Most flowering potted plants should be placed in areas with the most light in order to maintain good flower color and boost the maximum number of flowers to open.
Plant soil should be kept moist at all times. Plants should not be allowed to dry out or wilt but also be careful to avoid over watering. Do not allow your plants to stand in water. Also keep in check that you do not wet your plant’s leaves.
Plants must not be kept in extreme hot and cold conditions as that may deteriorate the plant’s as well as the flower’s health.
Plants should be kept in a cool spot, between 65 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit, for best performance. They should be kept away from direct sunlight, heating or cooling vents, directly under ceiling fans, or on top of televisions or radiators as appliances like televisions give off heat, which causes plants to dehydrate.

So it should be designed in such a way where anyone can feel fresh and lively. But what is kitchen designing? Designing kitchens means to make kitchens more beautiful and more efficient.
Though kitchen’s basic function is to serve as a food preparing area but still often it has to cater to additional and varying requirements so we should know the tasks to be performed in the kitchen before designing the kitchen, planning of a kitchen circles around three main work centers-storage, washing and cooking which forms three corners of the kitchen. Work counters should be connected with these work centers and kitchen can be designed in any style like English, European, Ethnic etc.
But no kitchen design is complete without kitchen appliances, counter, fixtures, doors and cabinets and we need to have right measurements of those things before choosing the scale of those things. Before designing cabinets and drawers we need to keep their use as well as things need to be stored there in mind. Like for narrow places we could use vertical storage systems. By a well planned storage we can make our kitchen spacious, clean and tidy, besides it’s the most important aspect of the kitchen design.
Flooring of the kitchen should be non slippery, hard wearing and easy to clean. Lighting of the kitchen is very important, it should be functional and bright and it shouldn’t cast a shadow on the working areas. Kitchen is that one particular area which produces most of the odor and smoke so we should take good care of kitchen’s ventilation. Kitchen walls should be able to stand against all kinds of fumes and splashes. Though in the past kitchen designing had no importance but now it’s very important as we all know that kitchen is that area of a house which is used most.

Chairs are some of the best furniture items used in a living room but what is the basic function of using chairs? Well if the number of people in the living room increases these chairs can be used as substitute to the sofas but these chairs must match or at least be near to the other furniture style. It’s same with the living room tables which have two categories 1.coffee table which should be placed at the focal point where all the people in the living room sitting on the sofa are facing and 2. End table which can be used to keep magazines or small flower pot.
The living room is the most popular place in a house for the entertainment of guests, and where families come together to enjoy at the end of the day, relax after a long workweek or to enjoy a television program together and also because living room is a transition point between the external and internal rooms of any home. Caring for plants is definitely a vital part of gardening because it has a therapeutic effect on the whole. People love to get delights from the real things, but not from the imitations. The plants need not only care but love and understanding also. If you want to make your home garden richer and more rewarding then you should take care of the plants properly as well as efficiently.
Pruning:
Pruning is a process that means cutting away the undesirable branches and shoots of plants. It encourage the new growth of the plants to bear more flowers and fruits as well; and also keeps plants in a beautiful contour. But before pruning the plants in your home garden, keep in mind that different trees and shrubs have their own separate requirements. In case of evergreen plants, they hardly need any pruning since they are able to make new shoots anyway.
According to general rule of pruning, it can be done properly when the deciduous, shrubs and plants are hibernating (winter). Because this period of time could cause least disruption to plant chemistry. So the best period of pruning can be the advent of spring when new shoots and leaves will seem to be emerge.
Pruning of fast-growing plants:
In case of the fast-growing shrubs and climbers, pruning can be done any time as required, if flowers are not your main objective. If you need flowers then the pruning would be resorted to at the end of the flower season.
Pruning of slow-growing plants:
In case of slow-growing plants, generally they do not require pruning. Avoid pruning of the shrubs like bauhinia, gardenia, hibiscus, jatoropha, calliandra etc.
While pruning, you should remove all of the dead stems and branches. Fretted branches should be removed also to provide more sun light to the resting branches. Try to cut above a node which is tending to develop in an outward direction.
Pruning can sometimes be done to deviate more sap energy to restricted zones of few flowers and fruits. With this you can get better results. If some wounds are imposed on the shrubs due to pruning then you can patch up the wounds with coal tar or brush these injuries with a solution of copper sulphate that works as a fungicide.
